ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
SAO Uganda is a child focused Christian founded non- governmental organization. It is affiliated to the Baptist Union of Uganda with a national secretariat in Kampala and projects in Buikwe, Tororo, Mbale and Abim, Masaka, Sironko and Kaberamaido districts. SAO uses the empowerment approach in its programme implementation and beneficiaries to SAO programmes are vulnerable communities irrespective of their religion.
SAO Uganda is implementing a number of programmes in its partner communities and these are Child Centered Community Development (CCCD), tree planting, Community Church Mobilisation Process (CCMP) and the Special Programme Convene and Convince (SPCC) among others.
Since SAO’s main focus is on the child, SAO therefore refers to the children as rights holders and all categories of multi-sectoral stakeholders that are responsible for child well-being as the duty bearers.
The duty bearer category includes but is not limited to parents, guardians, local, opinion & religious leaders, school leaders, teachers, police officers, probation officers, health service providers, NGOs and CSOs.
