Disaster Management and Enhanced Climate Resilience

Share An Opportunity Uganda strives to build the resilience of Partner Communities and reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate related extremes and other economic, social, and environmental shocks and disasters.

This is done through;

1. Strengthening climate change mitigation strategies in partner communities such as massive tree growing and energy saving mechanisms among others.
2. Promoting secure tenure land rights, and proper wetland conservation in the community of operation.
3. Ensuring rapid response in case of emergency in partner communities to minimize the effects of climate change and any other disaster related incidents.
4. Adopting and implementing local disaster risk reduction strategies in line with country disaster risk reduction strategies.
