HIV/AIDS PROGRAM

This is a MUWRP – Makerere University Walter Reed Project supported program.

We operate in Buikwe District at Kawolo Hospital and St Francis Hospital Nkokonjeru.

Project Goal:  To achieve 95-95-95 (95% of people living with HIV knowing their HIV status through HIV testing; 95% of people who knows their status after testing are on treatment; and 95% of people on treatment with suppressed viral loads) which culminates into ending AIDS by 2030.

Project thematic goals:

  1. Survival and Health – Increase diagnosis of HIV infection, increase HIV treatment adherence, retention and viral suppression, reduce risks of infection and improve nutritional development for children under 5 years).
  2. Economic Stability and Security – Increase caretakers’ ability to meet important family needs.
  3. Education and Development – Increase school attendance and school progression for Orphans and Vulnerable Children).
  4. Care and protection – Reduce risk of physical, emotional and psychological injury due to exposure to violence, Gender Based Violence, sexual abuse, Child labor or economic abuse.
