SAO Joins The Fight Against The Spread Of COVID 19 In Abim

The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Abim District, Mr. Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka has flagged off the distribution of 200 boxes of soap that SAO has donated with support from Help a Child International.

The soap is intended to improve hand washing practices amongst the vulnerable communities in Lotuke and Awach sub counties plus other surrounding villages in Abim District. The soap will mainly be distributed to Self Help Group members, Family Ambassadors, Children Ambassadors plus their families, Small holder farmers and People with Disabilities among other vulnerable community members.

SAO who was recently included on the COVID 19 Task Force team in Abim District as a development partner will also be conducting community outreaches about the Corona Virus as they distribute the soap.

During the flagging off that was attended by the RDC, Deputy RDC and a section of the District leadership, Mr Hashaka thanked and appreciated the efforts of SAO in the fight against COVID 19 in the district.

He said “SAO has been there for the people of Abim in this trying time and we in turn pledge to support SAO’s efforts as government.” He also appreciated SAO’s funding partners for the gesture of love and support to the community.

The RDC also encourages SAO to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of health as they go about the response.
