I was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda. I am the oldest of three boys in the family. In our formative years, we faced multiple challenges; we had no school fees and our mother struggled to provide for our very basic needs. At the end of my primary education, I topped my primary school attaining the highest grades possible for that level (Aggregate 4). However, my mother could not finance my secondary education at Makerere College School. Despite being a tailor, she sold her tool of trade: her sewing machine so that I go through the first term in secondary school. She thereafter, went on a search trail, to find a sponsor for my education. We tried in so many places and failed. However, by the grace of God, we arrived at Kyebando, where SAO took me on and supported me.
Through SAO’s intervention, I went on to top at my school (Makerere College School) in the O’ level final examinations, 2014, recording one of the best performances in the country. I scored the highest grade for that level as well (Aggregate 8 in the best 8 subjects). I am thankful to Steve Holland and his family who are my sponsors, my family, my friends and my brothers and sisters for helping me in my educational journey. I will forever remain thankful. I have gone on to pursue my tertiary education in the United States and currently hold a Master’s Degree from the Pennsylvania State University and an Ivy league degree from Cornell. I am back in Uganda and I am happy that God has made my life and success, a testimony for all-that is possible if we place our unqualified confidence in HIM. Thank you SAO for being part of my journey.
