NATIONAL DIRECTOR
Emmanuel Sakira is a dynamic and experienced leader with more than 15 years of expertise in designing, managing, and overseeing impactful development programs. His work has consistently focused on creating effective, community-driven solutions.
He holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Management from Uganda Christian University, a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science from Makerere University and a Certificate in Planning and Management of Community Development Projects from Uganda Management Institute.
Emmanuel became part of Share An Opportunity Uganda (SAO U) in January 2018, following 15 years of dedicated service at AIDS Care Education and Training (ACET Uganda), where he held various leadership roles, including seven years as Deputy Executive Director. He also has experience working as a Project Director with Compassion International-assisted initiatives.
Currently, Emmanuel serves as the National Director of Share An Opportunity Uganda, where he provides strategic leadership to ensure the delivery of evidence-based programs aimed at empowering children and youth. He is also a dedicated mentor and trainer, passionate about nurturing the next generation of leaders. His personal interests include reading, writing, and exploring human behavior through research.
Emmanuel remains committed to partnering with others who share a vision for holistic development, striving to see children and youth flourish within their communities and beyond.
Abiro Stellah Martha
Programs Manager
Abiro Stellah Martha is an exceptional critical thinker, goal oriented dynamic development practitioner with cumulative professional working experience of 16 years. Stellah is dedicated to driving strategic development, fostering partnerships and optimizing resources for sustainable growth. She is proficient in program development and management, experienced in working with partner organizations with strong relationship management, inspirational leadership, collaboration and problem solving.
With over 16 years of dedicated experience in program development and management, Abiro Stellah Martha is an accomplished professional passionate about fostering positive change in education, child and women rights promotion and economic empowerment initiatives. With graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute and a Bachelor of Arts with Education degree from Kyambogo University, Stellah combines strong analytical skills with a passionate commitment to advancing education, child and women rights
Throughout her career, Stellah has demonstrated her ability in program design, implementation of integrated projects both in humanitarian and development context, collaborating effectively with local governments, Non-Governmental Organizations and community organizations. Her inspirational leadership experience includes overseeing multi-functional teams, resource mobilization, and capacity development.
Before joining Share An Opportunity Uganda, Stellah served as Deputy Head of Program Implementation at Raising the Village, World Vision Uganda, Voluntary Action for Development, ActionAid Uganda, and Community Support for Capacity Development.
Stellah is committed to contributing to the holistic development of a child .
SARAH TUMWEBAZE
HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER
Sarah Tumwebaze is an accomplished administrator with over 15 years of diverse experience across Human Resource Management, Journalism, Communications, and Public Relations. She has spent the last four years specializing in HR, building on a solid foundation of over a decade in media and communication.
She holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from Makerere University, a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), a Diploma in Human Resource Management, and has acquired nearly 10 professional certificates in related fields.
Sarah brings a deep understanding of key HR functions, including performance management, policy development, talent acquisition, and employee relations. Her work is driven by both strategic thinking and practical expertise.
Before rising to her current role as Human Resource Manager at Share An Opportunity Uganda (SAO U), Sarah served the organization as a Communication and Marketing Officer. She also worked with the Uganda Network of AIDS Service Organizations (UNASO) and Monitor Publications, where she honed her skills in advocacy, media relations, and strategic communication.
With a unique blend of HR competence and communication prowess, Sarah continues to play a key role in enhancing organizational culture and driving people-centered growth.
MERCY ALOK
FINANCE MANAGER
Mercy Alok is a self-driven accountant with over 10 years’ experience in financial planning, compliance, and financial reporting for both profit-making and nonprofit organizations.
She holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Uganda Christian University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management.
She also has ACCA level 2 from the Management and Accountancy Training Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and several certificates in Leadership, Computer Applications, and Peer Education among others.
Prior to this position, she held a number of responsibilities across the Finance Department, from an Administrative Assistant, Finance Analyst, and Finance Accountant to Finance Manager for the last 10 years with organizations like Blue Bolt, Give Directly, and Smile Communications.
Her professional satisfaction is derived from achieving zero risk for organizational funds, paying attention to details and turnaround time.
GEORGE OTUNA
MONITORING AND EVALUATION MANAGER
Mr. George Otuna is a dedicated and committed Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with nearly 10 years of working experience. He has a proven track record of developing and implementing robust M&E systems, improving quality and rate of output, and leading resource mobilization drives for both local and international organizations.
He holds a postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Uganda Christian University Mukono. He also holds a Masters of Science in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi.
George is driven by the desire to change the lives of the most vulnerable persons from poverty to an economically dignified livelihood.
Prior to joining Share An Opportunity Uganda in January 2022, he had worked with Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA, USAID, Pentecostal Assemblies of God, and Management Sciences for Health MSH.
