EMMANUEL MWESIGWA SAKIRA

PROGRAMMES MANAGER

AG: NATIONAL DIRECTOR

Emmanuel Sakira is a highly experienced leadership & management professional with over 15 years of experience in developing, supervising, and implementing effective and efficient programs.

He holds a Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Management (UCU), a Bachelor of Library and Information Science (MUK); Diploma in Ministry (NLABC), and a Certificate in Planning and Management of Community Development Projects (UMI).

Emmanuel joined Share an Opportunity Uganda (SAO U) in January 2018, having worked with AIDS Care Education and Training (ACET) (Uganda) for 15 years in varying roles and positions including deputizing the Executive Director for 7 years.

He also worked with Compassion International-assisted projects as a Project Director.

Emmanuel is a Leadership Provider, Trainer, and Mentor to the Young. He is keenly interested in reading, writing, and behavioral research.

In his role as the Programmes Manager, Emmanuel seeks to have evidence based interventions for children and youth in SAO’s different areas of operation and looks forward to working with like-minded partners to see a holistically developed children and youth in the nation.

Emmanuel Sakira is currently acting as the National Director SAO Uganda, following the departure of Benon Kyome on the 6th September 2024

 

 

SARAH TUMWEBAZE

HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER

Sarah Tumwebaze is a versatile administrator with over 15 years of working experience, four of these in Human Resource Management, and over 10 in Journalism, Communications and Public Relations.

She holds a Master of Arts Degree in International Relations from Makerere University, a Bachelors of Mass Communication from IUIU, a Diploma in Human Resource Management, and about 10 certificates in related fields.

Sarah is highly knowledgeable in a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including performance management, policies, hiring, and employee relations.

Prior to her promotion to HR Manager, she served SAO U as a Communication and Marketing Officer. She also worked with the Uganda Network of AIDS Service Organizations (UNASO) and Monitor Publications.

 

 

MERCY ALOK

FINANCE MANAGER

Mercy Alok is a self-driven accountant with over 10 years’ experience in financial planning, compliance, and financial reporting for both profit-making and nonprofit organizations.

She holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Uganda Christian University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management.

She also has ACCA level 2 from the Management and Accountancy Training Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and several certificates in Leadership, Computer Applications, and Peer Education among others.

Prior to this position, she held a number of responsibilities across the Finance Department, from an Administrative Assistant, Finance Analyst, and Finance Accountant to Finance Manager for the last 10 years with organizations like Blue Bolt, Give Directly, and Smile Communications.

Her professional satisfaction is derived from achieving zero risk for organizational funds, paying attention to details and turnaround time.

GEORGE OTUNA

MONITORING AND EVALUATION MANAGER

Mr. George Otuna is a dedicated and committed Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with nearly 10 years of working experience. He has a proven track record of developing and implementing robust M&E systems, improving quality and rate of output, and leading resource mobilization drives for both local and international organizations.

He holds a postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Uganda Christian University Mukono. He also holds a Masters of Science in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi.

George is driven by the desire to change the lives of the most vulnerable persons from poverty to an economically dignified livelihood.

Prior to joining Share An Opportunity Uganda in January 2022, he had worked with Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA, USAID, Pentecostal Assemblies of God, and Management Sciences for Health MSH.
